Answers

What transcripts do I need to submit, and by when?

You will need to submit official copies of transcripts for all institutions you have attended since graduating from high school – including all junior/community colleges, colleges, universities, trade schools, and extension programs. While we can get you started with unofficial copies of these transcripts, the official copies must be received directly by the university within your first quarter. Please request official transcripts to be sent directly to us at:

Jodi Cahill, Attn: Executive Education Program, La Sierra University
4500 Riverwalk Pkwy, Riverside, CA 92515-8247.

What are Holds, and how do I get them cleared?

A Hold is something a department flags in your student account because of some deficit. Most Holds for EEP off-campus students are for the following: Admissions – generally requiring official copies of transcripts, or because of provisional status (call Jodi Cahill for help at (951) 217-3698); Student Financial Services – for tuition due (call the Bursar’s office to make a payment at (951) 785- 2158), or for financial aid documents or assistance (call Denyu Miller at (951) 785-2943). For any other holds, please call our EEP staff member Heather Miller at (951) 785-2225.

How do I know if I qualify for Financial Aid, and how do I set up my finances?

To be eligible for student financial aid, all students must apply at FAFSA.ed.gov. Instructions are provided on the web site; you must choose La Sierra University as your university. Graduate level students may apply for financial aid in the form of subsidized and unsubsidized loans. For further information, please check the Financial Information sheet in this packet, and call Denyu Miller at (951) 785-2943 for complete help. (Should you happen to get anyone else in Student Financial Ser- vices, please ask to speak to Denyu directly.)

What campus amenities do I have access to?

As a La Sierra University student, you have access to all campus amenities, including the Book- store, Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Student Center, Campus Counseling Center, La Sierra Stu- dent Email account, University Library (including online databases), and more. For access to these amenities, you must come to campus to get your Student ID Card in the Student Life Office in the Administration Building (be sure to bring photo ID), during business hours. The exceptions to this are your La Sierra Student Email account and access to the Library Databases, which you may access with your University ID number at any time.

What happens if I want to modify my academic program?

Because the Executive Education Program brings classes directly to you at an off-campus site, a spe- cific program is outlined in advance. However, the group as a whole may choose to modify the area of emphasis by selecting alternative elective classes. In addition, you may also modify your program individually by taking classes from any of our other EEP off-campus sites, or by taking a class on campus (with approval). Please contact EEP staff Heather Miller in advance at (951) 785-2225 or hmiller@lasierra.edu who will help set it up for you.

What happens if I need to take a break from my studies?

We strongly encourage our EEP students to maintain continuous residency throughout the duration of your program so you do not get out of synch with your group and in order for us to hold your tuition rate. However, if you do need to take a quarter break, you may do so. Just remember that because we bring the courses to an off-site location, it may take a while for the courses you miss to come around again. Also, because of a break in residency, your tuition rate may be adjusted to the rate for the current year beginning the quarter you reenter throughout the rest of your program.

How do I register?

Prior to the start of each quarter, EEP staff member Heather Miller will send an email with com- plete class information, including specific course CRN numbers for EEP classes, and with your individualized PIN number by quarter. The email will also contain detailed instructions on how to register online. Of course, you may always call or email for additional help.

What classes will I be taking? Do I need to take foundation/pre-requisite classes? And how long will my program take?

The MBA program is comprised of 48 units as outlined on the Program Courses sheet in this packet. With 8 units per quarter (Riverside, Glendale, Los Angeles), you may complete your program in just six quarters (18 months); or with 12 units per quarter (Chino Hills), you may complete in four quarters (12 months). You may also be required to take additional foundation/pre-requisite courses if you have not had sufficient academic preparation, which may add some time to your program. If you break residency, you may also need to plan more time to complete since you would have missed certain courses along the way.
