Center for Entreprenuership

La Sierra University is proud of the creativity and commitment to innovation our entrepreneurial alumni have demonstrated. Tom and Vi Zapara, of Zee Medical; Grant Sadler, of InterDent; and Jon-Erik Prichard, creator of the tablet computer, are among the former La Sierra students who have dreamed big dreams and succeded in the rough-and-tumble of the marketplace.

School of Business Dean Johnny Thomas is actively involved in supporting and guiding a range of entrepreneurial ventures, including 22Northtech, which will provide broadband access to the people of India using existing power lines, and Genelux Corp., which will transform the way in which cancer is identified and treated.

The Center for Entrepreneurship is a collaborative effort among several entities, including the School of Business dean’s office, the SIFE program, School of Business and various faculty, and the community, all help put the School of Businesses’ expertise to work on behalf of small businesses in the local community and around the world. The Center mentors start-up entrepreneurs, and helps fund micro-loans for select student businesses, and provides consulting services designed to help new businesses plan, raise funds, and tell others about what they are doing.

As a School of Business student, you can choose to work with the Center for Entrepreneurship, giving you exceptional opportunities to deepen your understanding of the complex business world, learn habits of compassionate service you can carry with you for the rest of your life, and develop your consulting skills while providing hands-on support for entrepreneurs around the globe.

While the Center serves a diverse array of businesses with goals and operating principles consistent with the vision of the School of Business, it places special emphasis on social entrepreneurship- promoting positive social change through business. Center programs in Ethiopia, Thailand, and Peru let School of Business students and faculty members touch the world.

The Center is currently supporting a variety of startups, including Helen’s Kitchen, which offers distinctive, flavorful tofu products; Rosasen, which markets a fresh, new line of golfwear and accessories; and PocketGoals, which helps individuals achieve their goals through pocket-size goal reminders.
